| The Board of Adjustment is an action agency which overseas the permitting process by taking appeals from decisions by administrative officials; and authorizes variances when strict application of setback, side yard, area, height limits would cause individual property owners unnecessary hardship. The Board of Adjustment consists of five members, each appointed for a term of two years. Alternate members may also be appointed to serve when one or more regular members are absent. All cases must be heard by a minimum of four members (75% of the members). The concurring vote of at least four members is required to reverse administrative decisions, grant special exceptions, authorize variances, and take any other action authorized by the ordinance. |
